Privacy Policy
The plain version: no accounts, no tracking, nothing you type is saved or sent. The tools live entirely in your browser.
W.I.R.E. is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no forms that store what you enter. The interactive tools run entirely in your browser. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not collect it in the first place.
We do not ask for or collect your name, email, age, location, or any other personal information to use the Site. There is no login, no profile, and no newsletter. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data to anyone.
The savings calculator and the baseline check run entirely on your device. The numbers and answers you enter stay in your browser, are never transmitted to us or anyone else, are not saved between visits, and clear when you reload or close the page.
Like any website, the Site is delivered by a hosting provider. To serve pages and protect against abuse, that provider may automatically process standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, and may keep short-lived server logs. This is handled by the hosting provider under its own privacy practices, and W.I.R.E. does not use this information to identify you.
W.I.R.E. does not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or similar technologies to track you across the web or build a profile of you. The Site may use ordinary browser features needed to display pages, but not for advertising or cross-site tracking.
The Site currently runs no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. If privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics are ever added (for example, anonymous page-view counts with no personal identifiers), this policy will be updated to say so before they go live.
The Site links out to government health authorities, helplines, and harm-reduction organizations. Once you follow a link, you are on that organization’s website, governed by its privacy policy, not ours. We are not responsible for how third parties handle your information, so review their policies before sharing anything with them.
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because we collect no personal information through the Site, there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request that we delete. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it.
The strongest privacy protection is collecting nothing, which is the approach we take. Because the Site does not gather or store personal information about you, there is no personal database to breach. No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but the Site is designed to minimize what could be exposed.
Because we do not track you, there is little to opt out of. You can browse without an account, clear your browser data at any time, and use privacy tools or extensions as you see fit. We honor the spirit of “Do Not Track” by simply not tracking.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site evolves. If we make a meaningful change to how information is handled, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, note the change. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions about privacy can be raised through an issue on the project’s public code repository. See also our Terms of Use and Disclaimer.
